In the courtyard of the Rectorate, alumni from various generations of the University of Prishtina gathered. These individuals, who have built distinguished names and careers both at home and around the world, came together to strengthen their bonds with one another and with the institution where they began their academic journeys.
The event, which is set to become an annual tradition every October 1st, was held under the motto "From Memories Toward the Future."
The formal opening ceremony was led by the Vice-Rector for Institutional Development, Quality Assurance, and Student Affairs, Prof. Majlinda Gjelaj.
Vice-Rector Gjelaj thanked the alumni and graduates of UP for their ongoing contributions to the university and welcomed them home. She assured all attendees that the University of Prishtina has never forgotten them.
The Rector, Prof. Arben Hajrullahu, also greeted the attendees, who completed their studies at UP. He emphasized that the University of Prishtina has shone for more than 55 years, thanks to everyone who has been a part of its story.
The meeting, which featured warm conversations between the university's leadership, deans, professors, graduates, and former students, continued with a cocktail reception accompanied by music from the group "Don’t Listen to Your Neighbors," whose members also studied at the University of Prishtina.
Following today’s event, the "Alumni UP" association will operate under the umbrella of the university. For the leadership of the University of Prishtina, maintaining connections and cooperation with alumni and graduates who have pursued academic careers abroad remains a top priority.
